Week 15 - MKGT 3349 - Weebly

Image
For this weeks blog post I decided to take advantage of what we learned in class and use it towards a presentation for another class. In professor Houlihans class we have a presentation on our made up business. For our prototype I decided to make a website off weebly and also use google adwords for our project. I did not connect google with the website on weebly, but I decided to use the website I made for this class, and tailored it towards our company and service we theoretically provide. I do not know why, but for some reason if i am not in the edit section of weebly, it will not show my entire website through a preview, or through that link. Thus, bellow I have attached photos that display the website. I also used the contact form on the website. Thanks again for this wonderful semester. I truly am grateful for this class because I had no prior knowledge on search engine marketing. Hope you have a great winter break. Happy Holidays! Sincerely, Rayhaan

Week 12 - MKGT - Surfing the Tsunami

Image
In Todd Kelsey's book: Surfing the Tsunami ,  there are three categories of people when it comes to AI.  A Optimist, Pessimist, Realist.  T hese are the three descriptions I want to focus on. The optimist sees everything as a positive. The pessimist focuses on the negative that could happen. The realist sees the data for what it is, good or bad. I consider myself to have all three of these features. I struggle buying in to things at first, much like the pessimist. Then once I determine that things can't go terribly bad, I become that Optimist. Believing that everything is going to be amazing with this new technology. That is when the realist in me comes out. I determine the positive and negative flaws of something and decide then that it has both. What are you?

Week 11 - MKTG349 - SEM vs. SEO

Image
SEM v. SEO  This week I decided to write about the difference between Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization. As we learned during the first week of class, SEM is an exclusively paid search tactic. Search engine optimization on the other hand is more organic search strategy rather than exclusive specific strategies. I do not think that one can be compared over the other on which one is better or worse. I believe that both of them are key for promotions aspect of any business and where the company stands in the moment is what allows one to discover which one is better for the company at the moment. They both are their own investments. Search engine optimization is cheaper in the long run and it helps establish search credibility.  I think that for start ups that still need to design their website then SEM is the best option to gain exposure and spread the companies identity. https://www.weidert.com/blog/difference-between-seo-vs-sem

Week 10 - MKTG 3349 - Ad Rank

Image
This week I read about Ad Rank and Ad Position. An Ad rank is simply the value that is used to determine ones advertisements position. How it calculates the score is through your bid amount, the quality score of the ad, and the extensions that are being used. The article posted mentions that Ad position is the order of your ad in the auction results as compared to other ads. Your ad rank is being recalculated every time its' able to appear on auctions. What this does is it allows your ad to move up in the ranks if there is not much competition or move down if there is stronger competition with higher calculated ad scores. Ad Auction is when Google decides which ad to show in the list and its position / rank in the order. Ad rank determines if the advertisement is eligible to be shown or not. As shown in the picture above, it calculates the bid amount and the auction time ad quality. It is recalculated every time the ad is eligible for auction. Three things that one can do to ...

Week 9 - MKTG 33449 - Real World AdWords

For this weeks blog post I decided to write about the the post that was posted on the Linkedin weekly weed. This Article from Business Insider talks about Google's plans for innovating in China and Sundar Pichai's, "The Chief Executive of Google", view on it. He elaborates and emphasis on the idea that people can gain a lot more useful information, and he gave an example of medical information. He stated that in todays generation people unfortunately receive counterfeit cancer treatments or they actually end up gaining useful information. This is horrible and he says that every individual should be able to get easy user friendly access to google. It would allow for mankind to flourish in an efficient way. The purpose of Google is to provide individuals with beneficial and useful information in the world to be easily accessed. China has not been able to receive access to google for the past decade due to Chinese government regulations. This is blocking the chinese popu...

Week 8 - MKTG 3349- AdWords Certificate

Image
FOUR REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GET GOOGLE AD WORDS This week I got certified for Google Adwords, and was studying for the exam through practice exams and quizlett flash cards. While I was only getting certified for this class, I thought it would be cool to see the benefits of being certified and what I can do with it. Based on the article I have came to an understanding that Google Adwords is a phenomenal software for small businesses to grow their brand and get exposure. Being certified appears on ones campaign and it shows that Google has qualified the brand for advanced AdWord metrics. This allows customers to value and trust the advertisement because it makes the brand and products more credible. https://neilpatel.com/blog/adwords-certified-reasons/ Through this article I now understand why it is important to have such a thing on my resume, especially since I am a Marketing Major!

Week 7 - MKTG 349 - Conversion Tracking

For this weeks post I am going to talk about Conversion tracking in Google Ads. A Conversion in Google ads results from every individual user who clicks on the adds and gains exposure through interactions with the advertisement. It is through this that one can obtain the marcom objectives and goals that are set for the ad. You can also chose the way you want your conversions to be tracked. IT gives information on your conversions in the reports section. This allows users to thoroughly understand how the advertisement is obtaining the marketing and promotional objectives for the brand or product. https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/1722022?hl=en It uses Smart bidding strategies like target CPA and Maximize Conversions, that automatically optimize and strategize your campaigns based on the advertisement and business objectives. It gives information on how many customers are interacting with the ad, and on how many devices or browsers. The platform allows users to view cros...

Week 6 - Marketing 3349 - AdWords support

Image
This week we went over some previous material in more detail. This week i focused more on how Ad Words support works. It is a user friendly step by step tutorial on how to run ads, optimize them, and make use numerous different variables and tools that enables users to target the consumers properly and make the experience as touching as possible. Below is a photo posted that demonstrates how user friendly the ad words support page is. It shows how one can turn on google optimization sharing for their account as a Manager account, and individual. https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7385992?hl=en&ref_topic=3121765 Using Google Adwords Support is crucial for every user. Through the tools and running analytics one can effectively measure their ads, set up the basics, billings, and manage ads. each of these tabs on the website have many different links and information on how to manage the add and make use of the platform. Week 5 - MKTG349- Call outs

Image
This week in class we learned about the extension called Call out. This extension is great for personal promotions and promoting an individuals ID. Great information that can be kept as a call out would be the rating of the product, price, additional benefits like free shipping etc. Call outs lead to more clicks and exposure with something that will catch the buyer's attention. It is also useful when done for research. Google Ad is able to provide the user with multiple different options to add to the call out extension.  According to Google Ad Help page, it stated that there is a 10-15% rise in click through rates when implementing a new ad extension. This tells me that as a business owner I have to make relevant and valuable information visible to the consumer during advertising so it can have proper influence on their buying behavior. Every character that is added will make a big difference for the campaign. It is important to think of the right extensions words. This w...

Week 4 - MKTG349 - google AdWords

Image
This week went over Google AdWords in more detail and covered things like demographic reporting and geographic reporting. One thing that I found interesting was that when you search for something in Google it gives you all relevant links and advertisements. I really appreciate how when you make the ad you don't have to give the specific keyword. This allows you to still have exposure to people who searched in things that are relevant or related rather than just the specific keyword only. Demographic reporting is also interesting because it allows you to figure out the target market based on who clicks your link. It gives you a better idea of the prospects you're targeting on sites. On social media sites, you can make the ad in a specific way that appeals to the target market. On Facebook, for example, you're able to build a demographic profile to target your ads to. You can also track your geographic exposure as well, and I am assuming that it is tracked to the IP Address. ...

week 3- MKTG349 - chapter 3 & GA

This week I learned a lot of new things about Google Ad, the one-minute marketing video, and also the chapter in the textbook. One thing I did not know was that google customizes its search results based on location, keywords, and just relevance in general. Our search results are also based off of what company paid the most at a certain time to have their results be on the top of the page. These Advertisements are labeled very small on the left-hand side of each link. I think this is the first week where I truly got a feel for the book and I appreciate the fact that the author put forth a lot of effort into really elaborating on things and sometimes multiple times in different ways. This makes it much easier for different kind of learners to really grasp the subject matter. I am also looking forward to getting the ball rolling with google ad. Now I have a better understanding of how it works and the cost behind it all, but I honestly did not sit down and watch the 40-minute tutorial...

Week 2 - MKTG349 - PPC

Rayhaan Rahman          Week 2 - MKTG349 - PPC       Todd Kesley 9/08/19 Week 2 - MKTG349 - PPC For this week's blog post, I decided to research on PPC to get a better understanding of it. PPC stands for pay per click and it is a type of internet marketing in which advertisers can pay a small fee for every time their add truly gets exposure. In other words, this is beneficial because if you have a certain budget and want to get the best out of it. You can pay for every time somebody clicks your advertisement instead of paying a lump sum amount. With a lump sum amount, you don't always know how much exposure your ad is getting through certain channels. With pay per view, you are. With search engine advertising being the most popular form of PPC, advertisers are able to bid for ad placement in a search engine’s sponsored links when someone searches a keyword relative to the product they provide....

Week 1 - MKTG349 - google Ads

Week 1 - MKTG349 - google Ads MARKETING IN 60 SECONDS: WHAT ARE GOOGLE ADS? https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=38&v=lPsxn_lughQ I found this video to be very interesting because I knew that google gets paid for ads but I was not sure and what things I search in result in ads and what content displayed to me from my searches are organic. This 60-second video does a phenomenal job breaking down how this works. I think it's a great way for google to make money and most of the time the adds popping up that are paying for the exposure are usually credible. Since they have the money to pay for the exposure they usually have proper information or products on sale. Out of the important skills companies look for in hiring candidates for 2019 was also a very interesting post. I knew that creativity was an important trait to have but did not think that it was the number one trait on the list. From my experience and understanding, I assumed that the most important would...
