MKTG 3345 - Week 8 - Search Traffic

Image
For the 8th week of class, we were assigned to look into how much traffic comes to the website through organic searches. As I stated in an earlier blog post, an organic search is when users search up specific words on google and shows up as an unpaid organic result (not advertised to come up on top searches). TO get a better understanding of search traffic, I went into the acquisition overview. After that I set the date range from January 1st to March 7th and I came to this conclusion.  Based off of this one can see that organic search users were made up of 38.3% of the traffic for the website. Direct searches on the other hand was higher at 56.6 percent. Direct searches are when someone uses a link and it directly takes them to the landing page of the website. Thus, Social and referral traffic make up the rest of the data. Organic search had a total of 88 users and direct searches had a total of 125 users. As seen above, Google gives us results that also show the lo...

MKTG 3345- week 7: Trending

Image
For this week's blog post we were told to look at trends.  Visualizing trends was much easier using the Google Analytics trends tool. To Observe CASA Google Analytics account, we first were told to look into a year from October 1st 2018 to October 8th 2019. I am assuming that there will be an increase in users accessing the sites from 2018 to 2019. Based on this overview, it is evident that there were 3 months that had higher volume in terms of traffic. These months were December 2018, and then April and November of 2019. The data records show that there were a total of 711 users, and out of those 703 were new users, and about 1,284 views on page views. This information is very informative to give people a better idea on the proper time and understanding of traffic volume. This allows people to also predict success.

MKTG 3345 - Week 6 - Organic Searches

There are many different ways one can navigate their way into making it to your website. If one is familiar with your company and website and knows the URL they can submit it manually. It can also be copied and pasted to the URL page. The link and URL can also be sent via message and clicked on, which will take the individual directly to your landing page. Another way the website can be found is via Google Search. This is best for client generation. Usually when someone searches something up the first two links are usually advertisements and the rest are organic. To see where the traffic from a website is coming from using Google Analytics, all you got to do is click the search box and type in acquisition overview. After that, the report will show all the traffic and where it came from is also seen there. Based on the image above, it is visible that most of the people who came to the website were from direct search. This means that the people clicked on a link that directly t...

MKTG 3345- Week 5: Taking the Pulse

Image
For this weeks blog posts all we had to do was "take the pulse" of an account and see the difference between the 2 different date ranges entered. The dates that I chose was December 1st to December 8th. and then the second was December 9th to December 16th. As you cans see from the pictures I have posted below, the first week of december was slightly better than the second week in regards to the 7 day comparison. However, If you look at the daily active users it shows that on December 1st there were 0 active users and then on December 9th there were 5. What you can see in the charts above is amazing. I really appreciate how Google Analytics takes this data and provides an in-depth presentation of the number and percentage of users in total. Through that you can see new users, avg. session time, and pages per session etc.

Regardless of what the business is, the most important thing about e-commerse and main goal any online website has is to generate traffic. Getting traffic to any page is what allows the business to gain awareness and make money. The value of seeing how consumers react on your page is priceless.  One thing that stands out to me about google Analytics is that it gives you location for geo-demographics . There is a lot of information on Google analytics that allows one to do a lot with. For example, where you are reaching from, how you are reaching, when you are reaching, and why you are reaching the website. consumers have the ability to reach your site through many different devices from tablets, phones, to even laptops. This is something that can be used to ones advantage as a website promoter. If one is using social media channels like snapchat and spending money in that area, you cannot expect that your advertising will influence desktop usage. Most people then will be using th...
