Week 15- MKTG 3345 - Linkedkln update

Image
For this week we were assigned to update out LinkedIn Profile, and add more skills that we may have gained in the last semester. Luckily I am a second semester senior so I have been updating my LinkedIn accordingly. In addition to that, I have also purchased a LinkedIn premium for the time being because I know it will assist me in my job search. Thus, I have added many new skills and got rid of some things that I thought were not necessary. I officially have added google analytics skills to my skill set as well, and just took the exam and passed it.

MKTG 3345 - Week 12- tsunami AI

Image
As you know, I had to read this book for a previous class, and honestly the information in it really opens your mind to potential innovations. Over the past years I have learned many different things about AI and I think its crazy how far we have come as a species. Over time AI is going to slowly get more and more acceptable in society, and become engrained in our daily norms. Even media and entertainment over time is shifting towards the interests of AI.  Ai is here to stay, and quantum computing is a prime example of how AI can influence our future drastically. About three years ago I went to the IBM AI conference in Las Vegas with my Father. He works for Aetna and the company paid for everything, so I tagged along it was a great experience. It opened my eyes to AI and how machines are capable of so much. This was around the time when IMB was still working on quantum. 2 years before they came out with the first quantum computer.  Ai is amazing but it can also have many neg...

MKTG 3345 - Week 11 - Referral Spam!

Image
In Google Analytics this week we went over the concept of referral spam. This is a concept that is directly associated with website traffic. What referral spam consists of is fake traffic to a website by a bot. It is a hit generated by a program or bot instead of a real human who interacted with your site.  These fake referring key words, domains, and events pollute site analytics with wrong data. This includes fake page views, organic traffic, and virtual page views. Referral  spam puts data security at risk.  How one can avoid Referral spam is through blocking URL's, custom filters etc. Blocking the referrer used by spam bot, block the IP address used by bot, block the IP address range being used, block the user agents that were used, and block the spam referrer through custom advanced filter. What I thought was cool is that Google analytics has a bot filtering feature .

MKTG 3345 - Week 8 - Search Traffic

Image
For the 8th week of class, we were assigned to look into how much traffic comes to the website through organic searches. As I stated in an earlier blog post, an organic search is when users search up specific words on google and shows up as an unpaid organic result (not advertised to come up on top searches). TO get a better understanding of search traffic, I went into the acquisition overview. After that I set the date range from January 1st to March 7th and I came to this conclusion.  Based off of this one can see that organic search users were made up of 38.3% of the traffic for the website. Direct searches on the other hand was higher at 56.6 percent. Direct searches are when someone uses a link and it directly takes them to the landing page of the website. Thus, Social and referral traffic make up the rest of the data. Organic search had a total of 88 users and direct searches had a total of 125 users. As seen above, Google gives us results that also show the lo...

MKTG 3345- week 7: Trending

Image
For this week's blog post we were told to look at trends.  Visualizing trends was much easier using the Google Analytics trends tool. To Observe CASA Google Analytics account, we first were told to look into a year from October 1st 2018 to October 8th 2019. I am assuming that there will be an increase in users accessing the sites from 2018 to 2019. Based on this overview, it is evident that there were 3 months that had higher volume in terms of traffic. These months were December 2018, and then April and November of 2019. The data records show that there were a total of 711 users, and out of those 703 were new users, and about 1,284 views on page views. This information is very informative to give people a better idea on the proper time and understanding of traffic volume. This allows people to also predict success.
